The Drawing Atelier is both a community and design hybrid. The scheme located in a ground floor flat, has been adapted to accommodate different scenarios in each of the available spaces.
The current presentation reveals the first finished room containing 6 seats and 1 additional working station meant for the available tutor.
The spaces’ purpose is closely related to the drawing activity that takes place in the modest sized flat.
Making the most of the available space, the proposal introduces exhibition pockets, surfaces and shelves that become a teaching tool for students.
Moreover, by inheriting the flat layout with its’ respective thresholds and portals, the proposal also rethinks the students’ circulation by removing or relocating several doors to create more linear movements between the rooms and through the common lobby spaces.
